After the final inspections you can be assured of the actual energy performance of your house. The Final Inspection includes the following components:
FINAL PERFORMANCE TESTING OF HOME COMPONENTS
Performance testing of a home after completion ensures that installations are meeting expectations. Testing includes:
- Blower door test to ensure the building envelope meets minimum air leakage requirements or goals
- Verification of insulation compliance and performance
- Pressure testing ducts to verify efficient delivery of heating and cooling
- Testing of ventilation fan flow for indoor air quality as required by ASHRAE 62.2
COMPLETION OF THERMAL ENCLOSURE CHECKLIST
Final details of the ENERGY STAR Thermal Enclosure Checklist started during the pre-drywall inspection are completed.
CONFIRMED REMRate MODELING
Comprehensive REMRate energy modeling integrates all details of the final inspection results to verify completed home meets minimum performance requirements under IECC and other performance goals. This modeling verifies the performance levels against the initial Projected Energy modeling. A final HERs score and performance summary of the home is generated.
