With changes in Colorado Utility programs and rules in 2012, Lightly Treading saw a need to create a network of highly skilled improvement contractors to help move clients from Energy Audit to Action. Lightly Treading approached contractors whose high quality of work has been demonstrated through post improvement inspections. The group of contractors has agreed to work with Lightly Treading as we work to develop the Improvement Connection network. We see this network growing and evolving to create a competitive and high quality marketplace for energy efficiency improvements in Colorado.
Lightly Treading promises to deliver audits that help prioritize improvement measures that address customer concerns such as comfort and high utility bills, while also focusing on safety and optimal energy savings. Customers will be referred to our reputable partner contractors to implement improvements. For those customers who contact Lightly Treading directly and want neutral third party inspections, we will ensure the audit is completed by one of our unbiased auditors. For those homeowners looking for a “one-stop-shop” we will refer them to our partner Improvement Contractors who can complete the energy audit, improvement bid, and improvement work. Lightly Treading will receive a referral fee for this work; however a portion of the proceeds will go to charity. In 2012 the selected charity is Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.
Improvement Contractors promise to deliver high quality improvements completed to industry best practice standards and bid to address the concerns of the homeowner and effectively reduce energy consumption. Contractors will promote third party verification inspections by Lightly Treading on all jobs. If any issues are found in work quality by optional third party verification inspections from Lightly Treading the contractor shall implement corrections. Participating contractors promise to abide by the performance best practice standards listed as commitments and all applicable utility prerequisites.
